Connecting london's barrier breakers

London is a multicultural, creative hub bursting at the seams with talent. Yet so much of this talent is underrepresented.
Stride, backed by the London Boroughs of Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark and Wandsworth, creates the space and support needed for this talent to thrive in the creative and tech industries.
Appointed as Stride’s Knowledge Exchange partners, our question was: ‘how can we help Stride connect and unite these individuals in an engaging, inclusive and accessible way during the pandemic?’
Working closely with their lovely team, we created the ‘Barrier Breakers’ concept – a free virtual event series featuring lively panel discussions, insightful round tables, keynote speeches and hands-on workshops.
The first event, Talent Scout, focussed on championing and communicating with underrepresented talent - ensuring support is directed where it is truly needed. We managed registrations, platform activities, content programming/scheduling, virtual training for speakers, live rehearsals and content creation.
Powered by SC+ and Swapcard, the event allowed users including creatives, start-ups, councils and program partners to interact, build their networks and share best practice, challenges and success stories.
